Assistant Manager

We are currently looking to identify an Assistant Hatchery Manager to be based at our hatchery at Inchmore.

The successful candidate will, in conjunction with the Manager, be responsible for the effective daily operations at the hatchery. They should possess a sound technical knowledge of, for example, pumps, oxygen injection, heating systems, mechanical filtration and back up systems, together with practical experience of the same.

In addition to the above, the Assistant Manager will be required to have effective people management skills, together with good communication and planning abilities and have a degree of computer literacy. The continued development of staff will be required and the Assistant Manager will be expected to ensure that each individual within the existing team is properly supported and encouraged to embrace change and work within a progressive structure.

Beyond the nature of the role, the post holder would be expected to undertake over-time as required in order to accommodate the business needs of the Hatchery. The successful applicant would be required to assist on the Alarm Rota and this would involve staying in the hatchery accommodation for one week in every 4 weeks approximately.
