Back to normal soon, at West Minch Salmon

17 March, 2010 -

THE owner of fish farming company West Minch Salmon has said that business should be back to normal soon after a fire affected part of their processing factory at Gramsdale in Benbecula last week.

Angus MacMillan praised the prompt action of the local fire brigade, which confined the fire to a corner of the store where polystyrene boxes were kept.

20 people work at the factory and Mr MacMillan said that once the fire and police service had completed their investigation into the cause of the fire, they could then start the clean-up process.

Mr MacMillan said that despite smoke and water damage, they could use other parts of the factory, and that it was important that customers should know that it should be business as usual this week.
